Tanzania LPG Association (TZLPGA) through its objective of Promoting LPG Industry in Tanzania has initiated Food Vendors (popularly known as Mama Ntilie (MNs)) Mapping Project in Dar Es Salaam region, to identify these MNs who are cooking food using dirty fuels (charcoal and firewood). The information obtained will help to determine how many MNs are exposed to the risks of emissions from dirty fuels, and so, how they can be supported to shift to clean cooking energy sources especially LPG. The implementation of this project is undertaken in parallel with provision of LPG educative brochures.
The empirical data and learnings from this project will help TZLPGA to extend the study to the rest of Tanzania regions so as to reach out the more groups of MNs. Below, is the picture of Scouting Team that is working in the field to undertake mapping exercise.
