We were delighted to participate in a training session on the health and environmental benefits of using LPG, as well as its proper, safe, and economically efficient use, delivered to women entrepreneurs from Mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar at the TEC – Kurasini Conference Centre on June 25, 2025.
The entrepreneurs are members of an NGO led by Mama Anna Mkapa, former First Lady and wife of the late President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Benjamin William Mkapa – the Equal Opportunities for All Trust Fund (EOTF). The organization’s core mission is to support women and youth in overcoming ignorance, disease, and poverty across both Mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar.
The participants’ attentiveness, curiosity, and active engagement reflected a strong willingness to transition away from traditional cooking fuels such as charcoal and firewood, which pose serious risks to health and the environment, and to adopt cleaner, safer, and more sustainable cooking energy solutions such as LPG.
